Web Design: Martha Stewart Wedding Dress Finder

Just prior to formally launching h+w, Jason was contacted by the super-star web consulting company Lullabot about lending some HTML and CSS skills on a responsive design project for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. The new project was to be the first responsive segment of the MarthaStewartWeddings.com site. In order to help brides-to-be with their search for the ultimate dress, we were tasked with making a dress finder that would work equally well in their hand and on their desktop (and of course on a tablet while surfing from the couch). Jason was able to quickly help the assembled team of MSLO veterans, some experts brought in for UX and design and his Lullabot teammate Karen Stevenson by making a set of responsive templates based on the wireframes. This helped iron out some issues and move the project forward. From that point Jason worked closely with Karen on tying back-end functionality with front-end presentation, with both the UX and design consultants to make the most of the responsive design and the internal project team to ensure the resulting project was tightly coupled with existing code standards and functionality. (We figured it was a good sign that MSLO requested of Lullabot that Jason stay on the project for an extra few weeks to help with additional QA and refinements). All in all it was a fantastic experience and we can’t wait to work with Lullabot and MSLO again!
